Can I Do This?

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 9, 2011, 10:39 AM
  • Listening to: sirens
  • Reading: the news
  • Watching: Flood Zone Evacuation

I don't like to be repetitive, but I will anyway  …

I have received a challenge.  To write a blog that is an expression of my personality and to be a chatty forum for my ideas about my own art.  I have always been better about talking about your work, than my own. That's what I love about dA, the focus is different. This is going to be something new. This is not something I have ever really tried to write about.  But I have been asked to do this, and I  can't resist trying.

My question to you is: Can I explain my connection to my art, and say why I make it. … can speak about my creative process?

Will I be up for this challenge?  Will you tell me? Honesty required.

Like any new skill, it takes time to convince your own brain that what you are doing is something that you want to learn and continue doing and improve at. Don’t rush yourself into explaining aspects of your art that you feel are just too personal to share at this time. That will come in time and you will know when that is.

I think you can do it. If you can make insightful comments about other people's work the way you do I bet you could do it with your own.

I think you could!!! You just have to dig deep and really think about why you create the art you create and what it means to you. You are extremely creative so I don't think this would be a problem!

I also find it difficult to talk about my own work. So much of what I do is non-verbal and switching gears is hard for me. But you are very verbal, so you will do well!
